Couverture de l’ouvrage Tsunami Geosciences
Tsunami Geosciences: The Geological Story of Tsunamis on Earth summarizes the most recent knowledge on this area of research. The book will provide new insights regarding offshore studies and on recent Mars tsunami deposits, providing a compelling review of the evolution of tsunami studies and modeling throughout time and provides an accurate explanation of key aspects needed to understand and measure these events. This is a unique interdisciplinary book, merging information from different fields of science including geosciences, computing, engineering, risk assessment, physics, law, civil protection and urban planning, etc.
1. Introduction
2. Physics of tsunamis

10. Conclusions
Pedro J.M. Costa has been working on tsunami deposits since 2002. He has participated in over a dozen R&D projects focusing on tsunami and depositional signatures. Many of his publications are highly cited in tsunami geosciences. Dr Costa has published over 30 papers on this topic including in journals such as Earth-Science Reviews, Sedimentology, Sedimentary Geology, Marine Geology, NHESS, The Holocene, etc.
  • Challenges are also introduced to provoke discussions on future scientific questions that can and should be addressed by future research
  • Provides a unique opportunity for every coastal community to access top-class scientific information
  • Reviews the evolution of tsunami studies throughout time and provides an accurate explanation of key aspects needed to understand and measure these events
