Internet architecture: evolution & convergence
Langue : Anglais
Auteurs : CHE H., WANG Z.
Data, voice, and video services have followed a clear evolutionary path towards an IP-centric solution. To support such a solution, the Internet has experienced two transformations: the underlying transport media of the Internet is converging towards a monolithic solution based on Ethernet Technologies, in addition to the traditional control plane and data plane, a third plane, known as service plane, has emerged to support more sophisticated services over the global Internet. This book examines the reasoning underlying major changes with Internet Architecture, including an ATM-based overlay model to an MPLS-based peering model. Case studies assist users with existing internet technologies and future trends. Designed for professionals, including networking managers, system vendors and service providers, this book is also suitable as a secondary text or reference for advanced-level students or researchers in computer science and electrical engineering.
