Olivier Serrat is an author, speaker, consultant, and researcher in the field of organizational leadership. His interest in organizational effectiveness grew while working on agriculture, environment, and natural resources in Asia and the Pacific, where in more than a dozen countries he worked to promote prosperity, inclusiveness, resilience, and sustainability. Olivier spearheaded knowledge management at the Asian Development Bank from 2008–2012. In consideration of the volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity of general conditions and situations in the 21st century, he sees that we must—beyond preoccupation with leadership styles—learn to lead in new ways of organizing. At the intersection of complexity leadership, metagovernance, and knowledge management (especially sensemaking), Olivier investigates how to lead organizations of the future.
Offers a panoramic view of 21st century working, balancing vision with practical observations Engages readers on key topics of business psychology and organizational leadership and demonstrates that leaders are made, not born Provides pithy advice to ignite performance in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors
