This book provides basic and practical concepts and applied methods on reliability regulations for the electricity distribution systems. It begins with an overview of distribution system regulation, including a short review on various kinds of quality of service regulation. The book covers issues such as concepts of reliability regulation, quantifying and setting targets for reliability, and estimating the value of reliability in electricity distribution. The major part of the book analyses the reward-penalty scheme from different stages and points of view from planning, to maintenance, and automation. The authors conclude the book by presenting lessons learned through implementation of incentive reliability regulations in practice, which are based on projects they have performed for the electricity distribution sector of Iran.
