Environmental Remediation for Agri-Food Industry Using Nanotechnology and Sustainable Strategies

Langue : Anglais
Couverture de l’ouvrage Environmental Remediation for Agri-Food Industry Using Nanotechnology and Sustainable Strategies

Environmental Remediation in Agri-Food Industry Using Nanotechnology and Sustainable Strategies presents remediation practices to remove environmental pollutants caused by food manufacturing processes. The book explores AOPs, BiOX photocatalysts, perovskite materials, Zirconium oxide-based nanocomposites, and heterostructured semiconductor nanomaterials. It looks at environmental pollutants from the meat industry, fish production, horticulture, grains and other food manufacturing, and explores remediation of soil, water, and air. Contributors represent expertise from backgrounds in materials chemistry, nanotechnology, environmental chemistry, green technologies, analytical and physical chemistry, and agricultural and food science, providing a multidisciplinary approach for use in industry and public policy toward solving food security and environmental issues.

1. Meat production and environmental repercussions 2. Fish production and water systems 3. Horticultural food production and water: Fruits and vegetables 4. Grain production and environment 5. Production of extracts for (functional) food manufacturing and environment 6. Nanotechnology based on AOPs in environmental remediation for sustainable agri-food industry 7. Industrial and urban wastewater treatment, disinfection and reuse by using advanced oxidation processes 8. Synergistic exploitation of a hybrid AOPs as a pre-treatment of concentrated aqueous effluents containing organic recalcitrant compounds 9. Applications of functional nanomaterials in photocatalytic air pollutants’ degradation, H2 production from water splitting and CO2 reduction to hydrocarbons 10. BiOX photocatalysts with a special focus on application in environmental protection 11. A review of perovskite type materials: From synthesis to applications 12. Zirconium oxide-based nanocomposites as photocatalysts for degradation of pollutants in wastewaters 13. Occurrence of mycotoxins in natural water and their removal by AOPs 14. Heterostructured semiconductor nanomaterials for sensors environmental monitoring and remediation 15. The application of plant-inspired nanomaterials in innovative water purification technology 16. Catalytic production and application of carbon nanotubes in water purification processes 17. Application of oxide and carbon-based materials in remediation of arable soil 18. Remediation of environmental contamination by subcritical and supercritical water 19. Nanoparticles in phytoremediation and plant nutrition 20. Nanotechnology in mycotoxicological food and feed safety 21. Costs and benefits of nanotechnology application in environmental sustainability at the industrial level
