Couverture de l’ouvrage Handbook of Techniques in Plant Histopathology
This handbook presents a compilation of plant histopathology laboratory practices and microscopy techniques for study plant tissues under biotic stress. It will serve as an easy-to-reference material for professors, undergraduate and graduate students and researchers from different areas who work with the interaction between plants and pathogens, whether they are fungi, viruses or bacteria. Besides, it will also help unveil the structural, ultrastructural and histochemical changes induced by plants when challenged by plant pathogens.
Chapter 1 - Introduction to Plant Histopathology.- Chapter 2 - Sample Preparation for light and Electron microscopy.- Chapter 3 - Plant Histopathology techniques.- Chapter 4 - Fungal detection
Chapter 5 - Bacteria detection.- Chapter 6 - Virus detection.

Dr. João Paulo Rodrigues Marques holds a bachelor in Biological Science, a Master’s and PhD degree in Plant Biochemistry and Physiology. His work is focused on plant histopathology, ultrastructure, and histochemistry of sweet orange, sugarcane, grapevine, coffee diseases and other Brazilian crops. Dr. Marques has authored several papers focused on plant tissue responses against pathogens.

Msc. Marli Kasue Misaki Soares is holds a bachelor in Pharmacy and a Master’s degree in Plant Biochemistry and Physiology. She has been an specialist in plant anatomy techniques for three decades focusing on Vegetal Anatomy, acting on the following subjects: anatomy, histology, root leaf, stem, histochemistry and electron microscopy.
